PM: Govt expands opportunities for cheap home loans for IT staff
MOSCOW, Jan 30 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has expanded the opportunities for beneficial mortgage lending for IT specialists and eased salary requirements, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Monday at a meeting with his deputies.
“A government ruling was signed which makes residential loans under this program more available for the employees of all the accredited companies aged between 18 and 50,” Mishustin said.
“The salary requirement is also softened -- income not only from the main job will be taken into consideration but also from part time jobs.”
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that more than 50,000 IT specialists in the country can get beneficial mortgage loans. The volume of the loans allocated under the program in 2022–2024 is seen at 240 billion rubles.
He reiterated that the IT mortgage loans are very popular among the industry’s employees. Under the program, the loans for more than 54 billion rubles were provided in 2022 under 4.4%.
“It is important, certainly, to provide (IT specialists) with comprehensive support, maintain the staff potential of the whole industry,” the prime minister added.
